I've gotta be honest with you: this is the toughest call of the entire competition, and likely the most assailable. Both Ecate and A Head Full Of Moonlight are excellent must-listen albums, and I'm sorry to see either of them go. But if I had to choose between them (and I do), Good Tiger gains a slight advantage by force of sheer dynamicism, as the band move over a wide gamut of moods throughout the album. And unlike other supergroup offerings, this album feels like something new and greater than the sum of its parts. Good Tiger craftily undermine Ufomammut, and move forward once again.
And that, friends, is the end of our Quarterfinals! It's almost time for the Semifinals, on our way to choosing the best of the best. Will it be Mutoid Man, The Armed, Intronaut, or Good Tiger? We'll start to answer that question tomorrow.
